Karla Policelli B.A., LL.B, LL.L, Mediator, Family Counsel, Real Estate

Karla has been practicing in the area of Family Law since she was called to the Bar in 2006. In addition to her Common Law (LL.B.) degree, she has a degree in Civil Law (LL.L.) and a Bachelors of Social Science with a dual degree in Psychology and Criminology, all from the University of Ottawa.

Karla continues to focus her practice on all facets of family law and has a great deal of experience dealing with matters such as child custody, access, child support, spousal support, property related matters and adoption. She has a wealth of experience appearing before various Courts, negotiating settlements, drafting domestic contracts, and with various forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Karla strongly believes in a client centered approach to addressing family law matters and is committed to helping clients resolve their matters in the most practical way possible.

Karla is an accredited Family Law Mediator with the Ontario Association of Family Mediators, and a fully trained collaborative lawyer and active member of Collaborative Practice Ottawa. Karla also has experience in working with clients with special needs and acts as outside counsel for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.

Karla is actively involved in her local community and has volunteered for various organizations and causes since moving to Ottawa in 1999. In her spare time, Karla enjoys playing violin, practicing yoga, hiking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
